Background
Having already delivered their 2nd floor HQ back in 2016, Bruntwood decided to move teams from their Trafford Park base and occupy the 3rd floor of Union too.
Working to tight timescales, we designed, developed and delivered the scheme within 20 weeks.
How we delivered
Sustainability and health & well-being were at the forefront of the design and project. It was important to both the client and the design team that all specifications had a strong sustainable story in line with Bruntwood & Dragonfly’s combined sustainability pledge.
Layouts and dimensions were amended to accommodate the reuse of some elements; following our internal strip-out of Union’s 1st floor, we retained the glazing and doors which were then reused on the new meeting and zoom rooms to the 3rd floor to reduce the project’s environmental impact.
We incorporated neurodiverse design in our scheme by providing quiet zones to promote a low stimulation environment for hyper-focus. The breakout spaces provide an area for stimulation breaks, while the zoom rooms are available for intense concentration and the team tables and “regional spaces” are collaborative hubs to support extraversion.
The result
The new head office is a different look & feel to Bruntwood’s other spaces and reflects their principles and values for their company co-working offering going forward.
The space will serve as a showroom for potential new tenants across all their buildings to demonstrate what a Bruntwood “made & managed” sustainable space can look like and will streamline lettings and future office fit outs for their customers.
